Chief Executive Officer & President

Jonathan Smith

Jonathan Smith is Chief Executive Officer & President at Xamin, a leading provider of managed IT services for highly regulated and reputation-sensitive companies. He is responsible for overseeing all strategic initiatives.

After watching his father build a thriving engineering firm in the midst of a recession, Smith was inspired to launch Chicago-based Xamin. in 1999, alongside Pete Smothers, Chief Operating Officer.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Smith is deeply involved with new business development, finance, marketing and other efforts that influence his team’s high-performing culture. Through his vision, Xamin has developed into a national leader in transforming IT into a revenue-driving capability for organizations though consulting, managing IT services and supporting integrations for a full suite of security, cloud and vendor solutions.

Prior to Xamin, Smith was a systems administrator for the SEC Group, Inc., where he was responsible for the integration, design and management of the company’s IT systems. Smith earned his bachelor’s in business information technology from Eastern Illinois University. Additionally, he is an active member and board member of the Chicago chapter of the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), a global business community collectively working together to evolve into the next level of entrepreneurship.

Chief Operating Officer

Pete Smothers

Pete Smothers is Chief Operating Officer at Xamin, a leading provider of managed IT services for highly regulated and reputation-sensitive companies, where he is responsible for overseeing ongoing business operations and business development within the company.

In his experience at Xamin, Smothers has led technology projects for clients. He has consulted on virtualization technologies; disaster recovery and business continuity; security and network analysis; system architecture and design; and regulatory and compliance. Additionally, he has a wide depth of knowledge in network infrastructure, hardware, software and deployment techniques.

Previously, Smothers worked as IT Systems Manager at a large Civil Engineering firm, SEC Group, Inc., where he was tasked with the management of all aspects of the company’s technology, including server and network infrastructure, telecommunications, mobile devices, internet and security.

Smothers holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Illinois University, and his certifications include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and VMware Certified Professional (VCP).

Director - Client Experience

Mark Wagner

Mark Wagner is Director of Client Experience at Xamin, a leading provider of managed IT services for highly regulated and reputation-sensitive companies. In his role, he is responsible for establishing and expanding relationships with new and existing clients.

With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Wagner brings expertise in financial services trending, commercial banking, risk management, strategic partnerships and business analysis.

Prior to working at Xamin, Wagner spent 28 years with Fiserv (FISV), a leading global provider of financial services technology solutions. At Fiserv, Wagner served as Vice President and Executive Relationship Manager and was responsible for overseeing relationships with Fiserv’s key strategic clients located in its Eastern region business unit.

Additionally, Wagner has held multiple client-facing roles including technical and application support. His last 15 years were spent as an expert in relationship management in the greater Milwaukee area, Los Angeles and Seattle. Previously, Wagner spent over five years in commercial banking.

Director - Professional Services

Jeremy Baumruk

Jeremy Baumruk is Director of Professional Services at Xamin, a leading provider of managed IT services for highly regulated and reputation-sensitive companies. In his role, he develops the company’s professional services (ProServ) teams.

Having worked at Xamin for over 10 years, Baumruk oversees ProServ Engineering, Project Coordination, Consulting, Sales Engineering, Procurement and Business Development teams. As director, he is an integral part of the leadership team, accountable for the success of the professional services groups.

Additionally, Baumruk has held multiple internal and client-facing roles including support, engineering and consulting. In 2013, he helped form Xamin’s ProServ division, which was originally developed for project work, but has since grown to encompass multiple teams.

Baumruk received a bachelor’s in computer science with a concentration in graphic design and implementation from St. Norbert College. He holds numerous certifications including Dell Technical Certifications, Fortinet Certified Network Security Administrator (FCNSA), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP).

Director - Technical Operations

Jeff Kuehn

Jeff Kuehn is Director of Technical Operations at Xamin, a leading provider of managed IT services for highly regulated and reputation-sensitive companies, where he is responsible for ensuring Xamin’s solutions and services meet today’s operational and security rules and requirements.

Having more than 20 years of hands on technical experience, Kuehn is a technology-focused leader with extensive experience implementing solutions and services to exceed organizational goals while meeting operational deadlines. As technology continues to rapidly change and evolve, he is focused on technical analysis, vendor relations and core technology concepts that solve his client’s business challenges.

Additionally, Kuehn has worked as a technology consultant for local government organizations. He has also worked as an IT specialist, where he managed technology solutions for an agriculture supply company.

Kuehn holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology with a focus on information security management.
